California Proposal 65. The raw materials and manufacturing processes of our tanks and water bottles do not use bisphenol A, bisphenol S or F.
Our plastic bottles are made from a bisphenol A-free material called Tritan. Tritan is a copolyester (polymer) that offers bright colors, transparency, durability and stability in the dishwasher, all without residual taste. A Food Contact Substance Notification (FCN) No. 729 declared Tritan safe and compliant with all FDA guidelines for materials in repeated contact with food.
Our Podium range water bottles are essentially made from TruTaste polypropylene, a brand of propylene suitable for food use, and without any taste. Regular bicycle cans are usually made of low-density polyethylene that can perfume or distort the taste of your water, but with CamelBak TruTaste bottles the taste of your water remains intact and pure.
HydroGuard is an antimicrobial technology registered by CamelBak and incorporated directly into the walls of the Podium, Podium Chill and Podium Ice water bottles. HydroGuard is an EPA-registered compound that has antimicrobial properties, and inhibits bacterial growth that can cause odor, discoloration, or deterioration of the gourd. However, HydroGuard does not protect against pathogenic organisms, so you should always clean your water bottles after each use.
